Business Components provide a natural way to
depict
everyday
business transactions such as customer
profiles,
products,
inventory, order taking, etc. For example, a
rental
car company like Hertz may have a computer system
based
on business
components where each car in their inventory
or
special Hertz #1 Gold Members are all represented by
business components that can interact with each
other.
Creating entire systems of business components is a new
area
within object-oriented computing. Petter Herzum and
Oliver
Sims along with the Object Management Group (OMG)
are
leading the research in this area.
