The Java Foundation Classes (JFC) are a new "superset" of class libraries (the
thing programmers need to build applications in a language) built on top of the
AWT which dramatically extend its features and services. The JFC are important
because they are much easier to use than the AWT and will enable programmers to
cut development time and build customizable, cross-platform JAVA applications.
But because they are a major departure from the AWT, programmers will need
expert guidance in getting up to speed quickly on the JFC. This book is part
of a 3 volume set that will cover the entire JFC through JDK 1.2.
